Techsafe Seating acquires Retro Seating business

Techsafe Seating announced today that it has taken ownership in full of Retro Seating, a leader in the supply of additional passenger seating for Wagon and SUV vehicle types. Retro Seating becomes a product division of Techsafe Seating along with the CrewSeat, SpaceSaver and BusSafe brands.

The acquistion provides Techsafe Seating with a firm platform to expand its presence in the aftermarket passenger seating industry. Retro Seating was the first to produce the forward facing child seat concept for wagon third row seating and 25 years later enjoys a strong brand and product recognition in the market. The company has innovative, OEM level seating systems and an established Australia wide installer network.

Certain areas of the business, including the installer and client base have been shared with Techsafe Seating as part of a long standing working relationship.  Integrating the two companies into one facility will allow for a larger stock holding and an ongoing R&D program that will take advantage of the potential offered by the Retro Seating business unit.

Senior staff have been closely involved with all aspects of the Retro Seating operation prior to takeover to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.
